April 17th, 2008 at 2:47 pm
Sounds like an excellent career move for someone who is interested. I know I currently fulfill a job which requires me to work from home, with immediate contact with the company through Skype.
Working from home can seem like an ideal situation, but remember, it’s a real-world job all the same… These are not vacation jobs.
April 17th, 2008 at 6:04 pm
I am really interested in this position on a part time basis! Thanks!
April 17th, 2008 at 6:07 pm
Should like a great job. I currently work from home now, and do not have the extra time. But would highly advise those who have wanted to work from home that it takes a lot of organzation and self displain.
April 17th, 2008 at 6:25 pm
What a unique opportunity to work for a cutting edge company from the comfort of your own home. 40 hours a week with none of the usual travel costs you can afford to take a little less salary as you score on the savings you make working from home.
You will need an area in your home you can work - ideally a small spare room.
April 17th, 2008 at 6:58 pm
Is it just an opportunity for US citizens?
StatCounter Team Response:
No Luigi - this opportunity is open to people worldwide regardless of their citizenship.
April 17th, 2008 at 8:59 pm
Are you considering seniors? Capable ones of course.
StatCounter Team Response:

April 17th, 2008 at 9:05 pm

StatCounter Team Response:

How soon are we likely to be told the status of the positions? The link has been removed from your website. Is that a sign? I have sent my application and I am also just as anxious. Thanks.
StatCounter Team Response:
Hi Femi,
We have received over 100 résumés so far but we are still open to new applications. (Your application has been received - thanks!)
We will start going through the applicants today and may contact some people requesting more information.
Please note that we will also have to take people on for a “trial period” - so that we can find out if the position suits them and if they are a good match for StatCounter. This means that it may be a number of weeks before the positions are permanently filled.
Thanks & good luck!
April 18th, 2008 at 5:48 am

Hi,
This job sounds great for me. I am in canada, but would like to apply if possible. What would the hours be, and if possible the approximate wage offer?
You have my email address for any info you can provide. Thanks
StatCounter Team Response:
Hi John,
“We want to hire one full-time (approx 40 hours per week) or two part-time representatives.” That would be two people doing 20 hours each.
You must be “able to work during office hours in CST (that’s GMT -5 hours)”
“Salary is negotiable depending on hours worked, experience etc.”
April 18th, 2008 at 11:14 am

Employment laws in Republic of Ireland apply. Assuming the employee is outside of Ireland and provided appropriate documentation is put in place, no Irish tax will be deducted from the income earned. The employee must account for the appropriate tax in their home country.
Contract will include a minimum of 20 days paid holidays per annum.

Hi! this is a great opportunity…
I have a little concern about telephone expenditures I am wondering which wll be the aproximate ratio of telephone / e-mail usage ? for:
+ Handling and solving StatCounter user requests
+ Working with StatCounter team members
+ Other corporate StatCounter requirements
Lets say, 20% phone calls and 80% email messages is a good ratio ?
or communications will be managed almost 100% by phone ?
This question is because of the expense in phone calls can drastically reduce the income of the new customer support member
Regards
Ben Boone
StatCounter Team Response:
Hi Ben,
Most support is via email; phone support is generally for members who call us rather than vice versa.
We would, of course, come to some arrangement on call costs if necessary.
Thanks!
April 18th, 2008 at 11:09 pm
Wow! This is THE job of my life… well, if I just manage to get it, of course
Great StatCounter team, I really hope to be part of the crew and thus sent my application for the job a minute ago… crossing my fingers (both hands’ and feet’ ones)
April 18th, 2008 at 11:12 pm
This is an interesting job you have advertised.. Hope you find that perfect match
April 19th, 2008 at 7:33 am
This is a great opportunity that would help keep busy after work, being that here in Uganda I would be out of office and at home according to CST. Sending you my CV right away.
April 19th, 2008 at 11:11 am
Really a great opportunity as I read the the job profile is also very interesting but I don’t think they are looking any candidate who can provide support from net. They need a person who is physically appeared in their office and provide support.
I missed the chance ! otherwise my PR and Communication Skills are very good and I like to talk with people alot
StatCounter Team Response:
Hi Nancy,
To clear things up here is a quote from our blog “Note that this job provides a “work from home” opportunity, so you must have a stable broadband connection (preferably with a static IP address) and telephone.”
April 19th, 2008 at 12:19 pm
@Nancy
They talk about having a high speed connection and possibly fixed IP, Nancy, so they MUST be meaning it’s a kind of working from home….
April 19th, 2008 at 12:58 pm
Hello Team, hello everyone (and good luck)
Only 1 day left. I emailed you some questions but I reckon that this announce keeps you really busy so I come here to pop it up again hoping for at least one of the answers.
) for this position. Is this offer for American citizen only?
I see that John, a fellow up here also asked you if the fact of being Canadian was a problem (for applying legally to that job I mean! the rest is left to anyone’s own appreciation
Thanks in advance
StatCounter Team Response:
Hi Majus,
This opportunity is open to people worldwide regardless of their citizenship - while anyone from the US is more than welcome to apply, the position is NOT for US citizens only.
April 19th, 2008 at 1:03 pm
Well, so far I see numerous candidates that probably will not be contacted as well as several who should. The best of luck to everyone who applies, and to StatCounter in their quest for the perfect candidate.
April 19th, 2008 at 2:29 pm
Hey, it seems you’re located in Ireland, I could even relocate to work from your HQ if that sounds better (and you eventually offer some relocation facilities).
I sent my application for the job yesterday but hadn’t noticed you’re an Irish company, so I mentioned the US in my cover letter. Well, it seems the time for this search’s almost over, so good luck to everybody and let’s cross our fingers!

This sounds like a very nice opportunity. If anyone from StatCounter would like to contact me regarding my proficiencies, skills, abilites, talents, etc., please feel free to e-mail me at the address I supplied via this forum. I will gladly provide a phone number upon request. Thank you.
April 19th, 2008 at 6:01 pm
Hello,
I have used Stat Counter for years even though I have tried other popular products. I have kept coming back to Statcounter.com. I’ve never had an issue with downtime with your server or software.
I like the ease of installation (I just use a global edit) and the wide range of information that Statcounter provides.
I have a background in Information Systems training in the medical industry so I’m very service oriented and methodical with my students.
I enjoy the “people” contact and am not afraid of the customers who know nothing about what they are doing (nor their computer). I’m not afraid to start with, “Ok, let’s check to see if your computer is plugged in”.
My background encompasses hardware and software troubleshooting.
I am a website developer specializing in search engine optimization.
I own over 200 domains and host approximately 50 of them. I use Statcounter on all of them that require stats.
HIRE ME! I love this stuff. I’ll come visit Ireland as long as they don’t beat up the Scottish people. I’m almost 100% Scotting from both sides of my family.
Thank you very much,
Tami Robertson
April 19th, 2008 at 7:00 pm
Tami Robertson mentioned she was applying for your customer service position. I’m an independent Web developer and have worked with her on a number of projects over the last six years. I can honestly say I’ve never met anyone who takes their work more seriously, works harder or is more dedicated to client satisfaction. On top of that, she’s a long time StatCounter user and is very conversant with its ends and outs. As you will see when you interview her, she is a great people person with an engaging telephone personality. I think her strong technical capabilities coupled with her people skills will make an unmatched combination for your position. I recommend her highly. Please feel free to reach me if you would like more information.

April 20th, 2008 at 3:28 pm
Hi.
I just wanted to say this sounds like a great job! I would also like to provide a bit of advice to some of the folks who have posted here…You are trying to communicate to a future employer what a good, responsible, employee and asset to their business you would be. You would like them to consider you for employment. Please, learn to spell & use proper grammar, capitalize appropriately, and use proper punctuation! It is almost painful to read some of the posts here. You are trying to convince StatCounter that they should hire you to represent them globally, in a customer service position which requires a large amount of communication with their clients, both verbally, via phone, and in written word, via email. I wouldn’t hire someone for a position like that when their communications to me - the person/s they should be trying to impress with their awesome skills - are misspelled, not punctuated, and lack capitalization in the proper places. I’m just saying…
April 20th, 2008 at 5:55 pm
That souds nice! The perfect job for me:-}
April 20th, 2008 at 6:34 pm
This is a great opportunity, but at moment i dont have time:(
April 20th, 2008 at 7:43 pm
This looks like the ideal job for a stay at home mom like me, but I would have to probably put my twins in childcare if this is a full time job. Right now, all I can do is work part time in the evenings after my twins, who are two, are down for the night.
If I am allowed to work these, that would be a blessing.
April 20th, 2008 at 7:57 pm
i will do for you free ,
if its completely online
April 20th, 2008 at 8:28 pm
Even i too applied for this Job..Probably qualified candidate will select by Statcounter Team…Hope i will be selected as your customer support.
If not all Statcounter members are surly will interested who is recruited for this Lucky Job by your team members…Hope Statcounter Team Update the status here.
April 20th, 2008 at 9:11 pm
I am interested in the customer service position. How do I further explore the employment opportunity?
April 20th, 2008 at 10:03 pm
Email sent, thanks for the opportunity to apply
April 20th, 2008 at 10:41 pm
This would be great for a work at home mom!
April 21st, 2008 at 4:44 am
Hi,
I wonder if you could provide some more information on the potential part-time opportunity. I’m assuming your preference is for full-time if you can find a suitable candidate. Is that correct?
I work full time, shift work as a firefighter. That means two day shifts (10 hours each), two night shifts (14 hours each) followed by four days off. This leads to a varied schedule of availability 6 daytimes out of every 8 that advances 1 day each time (8 day blocks in a 7 day week). Hope that makes sense. Would this be acceptable as a part time availability or do you require set hours on set days without variation?
April 21st, 2008 at 4:46 am
whoops! nevermind, I appear to have missed your deadline by 4 hours already
April 21st, 2008 at 5:35 am
Please respond,
Home full time. Good sales rep. can sell an icemaker to an eskimo!
Many regards
Donna L.
April 21st, 2008 at 7:20 am
It looks like I missed the deadline. Any chance for an extension? I would love to work from home for StatCounter! I’m available for any block of hours. Over night if need be.
I have experience with html, ftp and more! I’m great on the phone as well as having a flair for IM banter. I’m extremely friendly and easy to get along with. If Donna can sell an ice maker to an Eskimo then I can sell a space heater to an Australian Aboriginal (no offense Donna and nothing personal…just playing the competition game). I realize the job is more about service than it is about sales, but great service is all part of the sales endeavor.
English is my native language, but I also speak danish.
All the best,
Jonathan
April 21st, 2008 at 7:58 am
If the reps are half as good as the amazing StatCounter,
they will make a great team. together!
One minor flaw, even on the UNIQUE setting, it is still showing repeat visitors; that uses up the log quota
