Statcounter is the best counter out there. I tried many and am very happy with it.
However, the push is to improve the free side of statcounter it seems. I am a paying customer. I started paying on a monthly basis so I can increase the maximum log, however that was increased recently in the free version, and the new free number might fit my needs. Where is the increase in features for the paying customers? Very much in the grey as I see it. Would love to see for example more detailed mailouts to paying customers, as in who went where and when. Why do we only get a summary? We lose the info unless we constantly log on….
Otherwaise great and I voted anyway, but I think the paying customers are loosing merit.

The push is on to improve StatCounter in EVERY way!
We try to provide the free and the paid accounts with nearly all the same features. The paid accounts simply allow you to access a longer history of data for your site online. The reason we charge for this is because it costs us that much more to store and process the extra data.

The paid accounts also allow you to choose a daily email report option (you only have weekly reports enabled at the moment) which contains much more data.
(Click the envelope icon beside your project, click add email report and choose the daily option!)
Did you know that when the free accounts were upgraded to 500, we also increased the log-size of the first upgrade option? For $9 a month you now get 1500 extra log PLUS a free 500 per project. In your case you now have a total log size of (1500 + 3 projects x 500 =) 3000 instead of the 1300 you used to have.
At the moment, you also have 900 of log-size that you are not using across the 3 projects in your account. Log into your account and click adjust log to allocate this whatever way you wish.

i voted – being able to see that there are people all over the world checking my sites is thrilling, and knowing their referring links is helpful in several ways.
have noticed an odd thing i hope you can explain. there are lots of hits recorded during the month, then at the beginning of the next month no hits are recorded until i reenter the code. i have 4 sites on 2 servers, and this happens to all of them. has happened every month so far (2).

You shouldn’t need to reinstall your code. Everything looks fine. Maybe at the beginning of next month ask someone to visit your website to check that everything is working ok?
Some thieves, www.chowdaryguyz.com, in Delhi, India have copied my website and source code and are jamming my Statcounter with their website. What do I do?

Hi Alice,
Very sorry to hear that. Luckily we have just the feature to combat this! You need to login to your account. Click the wrench icon beside your project name. Click ‘Security Code’. Change your security code. Then you need to remove the old code and install new code using the wizard again.
You counted 46k of Hits for me so I vote on businessweek for you.
