SC4 and Beyond…!

Folks,

In the last few days we have completed conversion of all StatCounter projects to our new SC4 platform.

Some of the key differences with this update include:

  • Exit Link Stats
  • Download Stats
  • Faster Loading Keyword and Country Stats
  • Improved reliability and redundancy
  • Improved loading speed of StatCounter code
  • Greater technical flexibility to allow for continued system improvements

We want to take this opportunity to thank you for your patience and support during the period of the conversion – it took much longer than we had wanted or expected so we are absolutely delighted that all members now have access to the improved features.

As mentioned above, our new system provides us with lots of flexibility to continue to improve the service we offer… so we are combing through our forum and support system and putting together an action plan of updates and improvements for StatCounter. In addition, we’d be very grateful for your help…

    • Is there a statistic or feature that you would like to see on StatCounter?
    • If there was one thing you could change about StatCounter what would it be?
    • Is there any way that we could make StatCounter easier to use?
    • How could StatCounter be even more useful to you?

If you have a bright idea, then please post it here!

Any and all suggestions will be of great help to us in charting our way forward as we continue to strive to provide you, our members, with the best service we possibly can.

  1. Hi,
I have implemented STATCOUNTER on my website in Germany a few years ago and I want to tell you that I think it´s just perfect. This is a fantastic service and I appreciate it very much.
Thank you for this great service and for the new improvements.

  2. Thanks for the great service. One thing I would like to see is a way to include the public stats directly in your web page, so for example potential advertisers can see how the traffac have developed over time and so on.

  3. I love statcounter and have an upgraded account because i think you guys provide a great service worth paying for.

But the one thing that disappointed me in SC4 was the exit links. They only track the last 500 exits (or whatever your log size is set to). I’d love to see the top 100 exit links tracked on a summary type of page.

As it is now, I still have to keep paying for mybloglog which does provide the exit link service with unlimited dates. And this is something that my customers (who buy ads on my website) really want to know. I’d rather be paying you guys!

And don’t tell me to buy a bigger log size…even the biggest log size would still not give me a years worth of visitors. I don’t need every outgoing link tracked (although mybloglog does do this) just the top ones.

If this is too hard, another option would be to be an easy way to save and download our logs when they get full rather than just writing them over. If you could email or ftp me the log when it gets full so I could grab the stats myself that would work too.

  4. I just love statcounter. I wish there was more features but then again it is very usefull.

  5. Love stat counter! Its amazing. I do have a couple of suggestions though.
Maybe a clear logs option and a order by date facility for the “Visitor Activity” page.

  6. I would love to see a heat map of all time visitors on the geographic map.

  7. Stat Counter Totally Rocks! I am on a quest to make enough cashflow so I can upgrade and in some way, suppot these folks. They are amazing!
Thank You for all your good work over these years!

  12. After all I´m quite grateful from your industry.

  13. Thank you for this service–I have always appreciated the statistics that I get from your company and I think what you are doing is top notch.

  14. I would like to be able to delete a specific entry. Many of my personal visits are tracked because I use FTP to upload files to my site. I have a blocking cookie set but it doesn’t work for this type of access (apparently). It throws off all of my stats and I usually end up clearing out the stats and starting over. I also occasionally delete all of my cookies and then forget to set the blocking cookie through statcounter…

  15. Lego Man in Ireland could split his statistics by splitting the site into multiple projects.

I already do this to separate public pages from members-only pages, and to receive the email reports at different frequencies, too.

  16. We’re gonna stick with you all the way! Thank you for the wonderful blogging experience you’re bringing to us with your great, efficient services.

  17. I am very happy to be a part of this Statcounter. Thank you very much and you are the best.
