A Facelift for StatCounter!

Hi all,

StatCounter Facelift!
We’re currently updating StatCounter – the new site will have a fresh, modern look; it will be more user-friendly and hopefully will make using StatCounter an even better experience. Our new interface will also give us flexibility to continue to improve the service we offer.

Help Please!
Internal testing of the new site has been ongoing for some time… but NOW we need YOUR HELP!

We’d love to get feedback from a really broad range of people from beginners, all the way up to advanced users.

It would also be great to hear from anyone with a blog or website, who is NOT yet using StatCounter but would like to join up.

So, if you would like to have an input into the new StatCounter design then please apply for beta access here!

Please note that while we are hoping to get as much feedback as possible, we may not be able to offer access to everyone who applies. We do, however, sincerely appreciate every single offer of assistance – StatCounter couldn’t be what it is today without the support and loyalty of you, our members.

We would also be delighted to welcome any volunteers to our Dublin office to test the new site in person. If you’re in or around Dublin over the next few weeks and you have some time to spare, then we’d love to hear from you!

Questions, comments and suggestions welcome below.

  1. ATTENTION: There is a bug with the “change password” routine of your service.

You can change your password using it, and in the config panel the new password will be saved. BUT you still need to use the OLD password to log in.

I have tried changing my password several times, and it always behaved that way. I still log in with my old password. Would be great if you could fix that. Thanks!

    1. I tried to replicate your issue but it works as it should for me. When you changed your password, did you enter your “current” password below? If not, the “new” password would not take effect and you would only be able to login using your “old” password.

  2. Hi – the usually brilliant Statcounter’s had an outbreak of nasty advertisements this morning. (I’m based in the UK in case it helps). They seem to have stopped. Sorry, no url but I did get a screenshot in case it helps …

  3. I have only a garbled version of the site for the last week. I still see all the stats but very messy.

    1. Hi David,

This shouldn’t be the case – NO changes have been made to StatCounter. Changes are currently only being made to the invitation-only beta design.

Please report any problems to our Support Desk via the “support” link when logged into your account – this will allow us to investigate your specific case. Please don’t forget to provide details of your browser and O.S to help us troubleshoot any issues for you.

  4. Yes I like your new design, it is like a social media design! It is vital to be and look up-to-the-minute online because with your image, perception creates reality, that is, if people perceive your site as dated they assume your service to be irrelevant whereas a crisp clean image promotes an assumption of relevance: this is a tool that will help my website today!

  5. The only Statcounter site that loads properly for me is this blog site i haven’t been able to load any of the others for weeks using IE8 ,Safari, Forefox.
Chrome or Opera. Its only Statcounter that is not working properly the rest of the web is fine.
    I am using Windows 7 64 bit.

    1. Hi

You may have something on your PC that is blocking Statcounter, like Kaspersky, Spybot or your local hosts file has Statcounter listed in it. Check those and you may find your problem. Even your ISP could be blocking Statcounter.

      1. I don’t think it can be down to blocking , if i go to
the site loads but there are no images, all i get is a plain white background black text & blue links it not just Opera i get the same using Firefox ,IE 8,
Safari & Chrome . Every other site i go to is behaving fine its just statcounter starting a few weeks ago ?
I have checked my host file & there is nothing related to Statcounter.
I use Comodo Internet Suite & i can find nothing there.
My ISP is Virginmedia in the UK i cannot think of any reason why it would be blocking or partially blocking Statcounter.

  6. Hard to see how this could be improved, but then I have years of experience with the current site.

  7. Hi, as many above I understand desire to improve – but after suffering at the hands of Gumtree who buggered so MUCH up with their last facelift, please please don’t fix the unbroken (speed, reliability, intuitiveness, etc). Thanks for great service and good luck.

  8. Honest points addressed here. I am glad to you for that, nevertheless you deserve more thanks than that. I suffer from color blindness. I primarily use Firefox web browser and regard a number of sites are difficult to apprehend thanks to a sloppy range of colours applied. Nonetheless, here, as the range of colours is beneficial, the design is highly tidy and enjoyable to comprehend. I don’t know whether it was a planned and conscious attempting, or just the ‘luck of the draw’, but I nonetheless thank you.

    1. Thanks for your comment!

In light of your color blindness, we would be grateful for your particular assistance in testing our new design – we are keen to get feedback from as many perspectives as possible.

Please consider applying to test our new version and mention your post in the “comments” section.

  9. love the old design, especially recent visitor activity. so simple and easy to load with lots of info.

don’t know if this can be an improvement,
