It’s our mission to make Statcounter the most useful, engaging and easy to use analytics app for our members. This update is just one of many improvements we have lined up to help make it easy for you to understand your visitors and make the most informed decisions about your website.
Clarity and ease-of-use.
While there are some new features and functional improvements in this update, the most substantial changes are to the look and feel of the Statcounter user interface. Redesigned from the ground up, we’ve placed priority on clarity and ease-of-use by improving the layout, typography, colours, icons, spacing and visual hierarchy.
See the wood for the trees.
New headline stats show you important summary information at a glance.
Compare and contrast.
A refreshed projects page makes it easier for you to compare trends across your projects.
Take a shortcut.
A redesigned date-range picker with shortcut buttons makes filtering reports by date quicker and easier.
Jump and zoom.
New jump and zoom controls on the summary chart make it easier than ever to navigate backwards and forwards in time and zoom in and out for different levels of granularity.
Be flexible.
You can now hide the left navigation menu when you need some extra space for your stats. This can be particularly useful for viewing reports that contain long URLs.
Be Vibrant.
Last but by no means least, we’re excited to show you our new logo. A vibrant new look to the future, with a nod to the past.
Watch this space for further improvements in the coming months and if you have any feedback, please feel free to let us know in the comments below or use the Feedback Tab in Statcounter.
Can I find out if the option to keep the old interface will always be there? Otherwise we will start using in house stat software. The only reason we use stat counter is because of the old interface, it is perfect.
Hi Justin,
The old interface will be kept during the transition. If there is something with the new design you don’t like please get in touch and let us know.
Can you put back the navigation buttons Prev 1,2,3,4,…. (Last) Next on
the top please. It´s a pain to have to scroll down to simply navigate from
Page to Page
I sent you an email to follow up on this more.
Design-wise, the new interface is great, however, I can’t seem to figure out how to show hourly traffic, which is what I like to see when checking stats throughout the day, especially when we have random spikes from Google and Facebook. I’ve reverted back to the old design for now (hopefully you won’t be taking it down anytime soon).
Strange. It should be just under “Summary”.
The interface does look nice and neat however I am struggling a little with this. Not all the same info seems to be available and I now have to look much harder to find simple stuff that before was easy reading.
Looks great, very clear! Love the new design, easy to use and a lot of information about visits on my website.
Great work on the UI and also the logo! I don’t think the old one looked too shabby at all, but I really like the new one!
A BIG STEP forward in the evolution of this business. Congrats to SC, the new Alerts very useful. Would be very nice if in the future selected URL ‘s could also have alerts. So for example we would know which pages receive most visitors. We often wish to monitor a particular landing page or new website content.
I am unable to see the information that I used to see in the old interface. Do we have a choice?
You can revert back for now. But the old design won’t be around forever so please let us know what you don’t like about it.
I share Omar’s frustration, for myself I would like the old GUI to stay please.
Not a fan
I hate it. Haven’t been able to figure out anything. The more technological fancy we may things look the more complicated they become. Idiot proof please! Old Statcounter back again!
Have to say really enjoying the new design looks great and makes things much easier to move around.
I really dislike the new interface. It was perfect just the way it was before. Please don’t make this new one permanent… !!!
As always, every (so called) improvement makes things more complicated and difficult.
This is just another example by high tech weirdos, who just want something to justify their existence.
Keep it simple #$@^%&*() = KISS
Great interface!
I want the old interface back. How to revert?
Thanks for this article.
This new interface is to over simplified, and targets tablet users. Please don’t go the way of Windows 8 and alienate users of the site that need complexity in a stat views… not bouncy ball pit for kids.
I really like the new interface. I don’t know what I’d do without statcounter.
I’ve been using Statcounter since July 2004 for my growing network of websites. This is by far, the best interface upgrade to date. Good job!
I Really like to new design, clean, clear, professional, easy to read and the additional features on stats page are useful.
Well done for a well thought out redesign, keep up the great work.
