Introducing UTM Campaign Tracking in Statcounter

Analyzing the sources of your website traffic is essential for understanding how visitors are finding your site, which channels are most effective, and how to optimize your marketing and content strategies for the best results.

Today we’re excited to launch a new and improved Traffic Sources report in Statcounter which is designed to give you valuable insights into your audience and digital marketing campaigns and empower you to make the type of data-driven decisions that will increase traffic, boost conversions and ultimately grow your business.

Here’s what’s new to the Traffic Sources report:

UTM Campaign Tracking

Whether you’re using paid traffic, social media or email campaigns to drive traffic to your site, UTM tracking is an essential tool that provides deeper insights into the performance of your campaigns at a granular level.

If you’re new to UTM Tracking, our step-by-step guide will help you get started:
Mastering Campaign Tracking in Statcounter with UTM Parameters

Conversion Rate Tracking

You can set your conversion goal in Statcounter to be anything from a completed purchase to a sign up to your newsletter. The conversion rate in Traffic Sources shows you the percentage of visitors who reached your goal for each source and campaign so you can see at a glance how each is performing.

Bounce Rate Tracking

When visitors arrive on your site, are they clicking through from your landing page to other pages or bouncing as soon as they arrive. The percentage of single page visits from each traffic source and campaign can help you identify landing pages that may need attention. Bounce Rate is now included on all traffic sources and campaigns.

Trend Charts and Drilldowns

From the main Traffic Sources page, you can drill down to a Trends page for each source and campaign. This page displays trend charts for sessions, conversions, conversion rate and bounce rate so you can track their performance over time.

On the Trends pages for traffic sources that have sub-items, you can select a sub-item to see the charts for that item. For example on the Social Traffic trends page, you could select Instagram or Facebook to see the trends for it.

We hope these improvements give you useful insights into your campaign performance and a greater understanding of your visitors.
